Who the Sensitive Skin Facial is for
If your skin reacts easily, this is the facial we built for you. It is especially helpful if you have:
Rosacea: persistent redness, flushing and sensitivity across the cheeks, nose and chin
Eczema: dry, easily irritated skin with a weakened barrier
Acne-prone, oily or congested skin that flares with harsher treatments
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: the dark marks breakouts leave behind
Perimenopause-related sensitivity: skin that suddenly reacts to products it used to tolerate
A history of reacting to standard facial techniques
Coastal skin stressed by salt, sun and wind on Sullivan's Island or Isle of Palms
Not sure it is the right fit? Our guide to choosing the right facial for your skin compares every option, or start with an in-person skincare consultation.
What to Expect
Every treatment begins with a comprehensive skin health consultation. Samantha reviews your skin history, known triggers, current products and medications, and what you want to change, then builds a personalized treatment plan around your needs.
The clinical goals of the Sensitive Skin Facial are to calm inflammation, reduce congestion and improve the overall radiance of your skin. Paired with science-based home care, we work together to improve clarity and radiance, reduce acne lesions and fade post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation over time.
New clients who want a deeper first look can book our in-person consultation, which includes a SkinCeuticals Skinscope LED skin analysis that reveals sub-surface sun damage you cannot see in the mirror. A virtual consultation is also available.

Why sensitive skin needs a nurse-led facial
Sensitive skin is not one condition. Rosacea, eczema, acne, contact reactions and hormonal changes each need a different approach, and a generic spa facial can make them worse. Samantha Katz, BSN, RN brings more than 20 years of nursing experience to every appointment, so she understands the difference between rosacea and acne, recognizes when a reaction needs a different plan, and knows how medications and health conditions affect your skin.
You will always see Samantha, and only Samantha. Skin Glow Collective is a one-room boutique studio with no front desk and no rotating estheticians, and appointments are never rushed. As she puts it: “I believe you don’t have to destroy it to make it healthier.”
Sensitive skin in the Charleston climate
Lowcountry heat is a year-round trigger for rosacea. Humidity mixes sweat, sunscreen and makeup on reactive skin, air conditioning swings temperatures and dries out the barrier, and strong sun deepens both redness and dark marks. That is why regular, gentle professional care matters most for sensitive skin in Mount Pleasant and Charleston, and why the Sensitive Skin Facial is one we recommend in every season. For a full look at how the treatment is built, read our guide to sensitive skin facials for rosacea, eczema and reactive skin.
How often to book, and what comes next
Most sensitive and rosacea-prone skin does best with a Sensitive Skin Facial every 6 to 8 weeks, which gives your skin time to rest and recover between sessions. As your skin grows calmer and stronger, Samantha may gradually introduce other treatments, such as the Skin Glow Essential Facial, the Glo2Facial, or medical microneedling for acne scarring, only when your skin is ready. Learn more in how often you should get a facial.
Home care for sensitive skin
What you use at home matters as much as what happens in the studio. Samantha will recommend specific products from the clinically developed lines she carries, including Alastin and SkinBetter Science. For most sensitive skin, the foundation is simple: a gentle fragrance-free cleanser, a barrier-supporting moisturizer and a mineral SPF 30+ every day. If you wear makeup, our Jane Iredale mineral makeup is a gentle choice for reactive skin, with shade matching in the studio.

The Sensitive Skin Facial is designed to calm redness and inflammation, not create it, and it finishes with cooling, hydrating and protective steps including mineral SPF. Tell Samantha how your skin usually reacts so she can adjust every step.

Yes. Hormonal changes in perimenopause and menopause can reduce hydration and barrier strength, so skin that never reacted before can become dry and easily irritated. The Sensitive Skin Facial is a good fit for this kind of new sensitivity.
